State-of-the-art technology, highest safety standards and proven reliability characterize SIKORA wall thickness measurement products.
X-Ray technology at jacketing lines
The optimization of the material usage
is becoming increasingly important for
jacketing lines. For decades the common
practice has been to measure the
average wall thickness. However, if
eccentricity is not taken into the equation
for material optimization, this leads
to a drastic over consumption of insulating
material and reduces the annual
profits by more than t 100,000.00.

With the new generation of SIKORA products (e.g. X-RAY 8000 NXT), multi sensor detectors are used as receivers for the X-ray signal. The SIKORA Multi Sensor Technology (optional), in combination with the high speed scanners, assures reliable and precise measurements of medium, high and extra high voltage cables, even if the cable should vibrate or bounce. The SIKORA Multi Sensor Technology provides four measuring values with each scan cycle of the two scanners. This is a guarantee for optimum precision measurements.
The SIKORA technique provides precise measurement values immediately at the start-up of the CV-line and allows the operator a fast centering of the crosshead. The simplicity of the system ensures operator acceptance. Only one scan is needed to calculate all values. The scan time is automatically optimized by adaptation to cable size which in turn determines the length of the scan-way distance. This automatic scan-way adaptation ensures the most rapid update of the scan data. The X-RAY 8000 NXT allows the operator a fast centering of the cable and a permanent control of the line in automatic mode.
