The LASER 2000 series offers the latest measuring device program in its market segment. Highest precision, reliability and functionality are the features of all SIKORA LASER 2000 diameter measuring devices. The gauge heads are applicable to all cable production lines for the measurement of wires, optical fibers, telephone wires, coaxial and RF cables as well as automotive-, building wires and power cables.
The technological background of these gauge heads is a state-of-the-art CCD-technology, combined with laser diodes as light sources and an intelligent powerful software. SIKORA gauges are known to be the best of its class regarding precision, quality and ease of operation. The outstanding feature of the non contact measuring technology is the extremely high single value precision, which is an important aspect for the calculation of the standard deviation. The short exposure time of 0.5 μsec is assuring reliable readings at high line speeds, where the product may vibrate. A benefit of this technology is where no guide rollers are needed to dampen frequency and amplitude of vibration.
With the LASER 2000 T models, SIKORA offers triple-axis gauge heads for the precise diameter measurement in real time including the minimum/ maximum values, the ovality and its direction. A specific characteristic of these systems is that the ovality is always calculated precisely independent from the orientation of the minimum and maximum values to the axis of measurement.
Further application driven gauge heads are available for specific products and production lines. LASER 2000 XY-F/R delivers precise measurements of flat and round cables and the LASER 2000 S/R is a unique concept to measure straight and prespiralled sectors as well as the outer diameter of round cables.
All gauge heads of the LASER 2000 series do not contain wearing parts, have an almost unlimited life-time and do not require any maintenance procedures. Interesting is the design of the gauge heads. The measuring axes are arranged in such a way that the gauge is open at the bottom side, so that this prevents the gauge head from dirt and water drops falling into the measuring area. A special feature of the systems is the swiveling gauge head, which can easily be moved up out of the extrusion line.
